Contest Alert : Flame Tree Season Photography Competition with AED 30,000 in Prizes
Photography enthusiasts and nature lovers in Dubai now have an opportunity to showcase their creativity and win attractive cash prizes through the newly launched Flame Tree Season Photography Competition.
Organized by Dubai Culture and Arts Authority in collaboration with the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA), the competition celebrates the beauty of Dubai’s iconic Flame Trees, which transform many streets, parks, and neighborhoods with their vibrant red blossoms during the summer season.
Capture Dubai in Bloom
Residents and visitors are invited to photograph the Flame Trees currently blooming across the city and share their best images on Instagram.
To participate, entrants must:
Capture a photograph featuring the Flame Tree season.
Publish the image on a public Instagram account.
Use the hashtag #FlameTreeSeason.
Follow and tag @dubaiculture, @hipaae, and @flametreeseason.
Submit only one entry.
Previously captured photographs may also be submitted, provided they are reposted with the required hashtag and account tags.
Prizes Worth AED 30,000
The competition offers a total prize pool of AED 30,000:
First Place: AED 15,000
Second Place: AED 10,000
Third Place: AED 5,000
The initiative aims to encourage residents and visitors to explore Dubai’s natural beauty while highlighting one of the city’s most recognizable seasonal attractions.
Submission Deadline
Participants can submit their entries until 11:59 PM UAE time on July 31, 2026.
Celebrating Dubai’s Flame Tree Season
The photography competition forms part of Dubai’s broader celebration of the annual Flame Tree Season, a period when thousands of Flame Trees bloom across the emirate, bringing vibrant color to public spaces and residential communities.
Originally native to Madagascar and scientifically known as Delonix regia, the Flame Tree has become a familiar feature of Dubai’s landscape. Over the years, large numbers of these trees have been planted across areas including Jumeirah, Al Safa, Al Rashidiya, Deira, and Bur Dubai, making them one of the city's most recognizable seasonal landmarks.
