Eid Al Adha 2024: Dubai's Public Transport Usage Hits New High
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced a significant increase in public transport usage during the Eid Al Adha holiday, from June 15 to 18, 2024. Over these four days, more than 6.7 million passengers utilized various modes of transportation, surpassing the 6.4 million riders recorded during the same period last year.
Metro and Tram Services
The Dubai Metro remained a popular choice, with the red and green lines transporting a total of 2.5 million passengers. The tram services also saw a significant number of users, with over 101,000 passengers.
Buses and Marine Transport
Public buses provided a convenient option for many, carrying 1.4 million passengers. Meanwhile, marine transport services, including abras, ferries, and water taxis, recorded a substantial 280,000 passengers, reflecting the city's extensive and varied transport infrastructure.
Taxis and Shared Transport
Taxis played a crucial role in meeting the transportation needs of residents and visitors, with 2 million riders relying on this service. Additionally, shared transportation options, such as ride-sharing vehicles, saw over 350,000 riders.
