HIPA Photography Competition 2026 Offers AED 100,000 Prize Pool
HIPA invites photographers worldwide to capture UAE nature in a 2026 competition featuring AED 100,000 in prizes across wildlife, landscapes, underwater and AI categories.
The Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA), in collaboration with the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority, has launched a photography competition celebrating the UAE’s natural environment and biodiversity.
Titled “Through a Lens that Protects Nature and Preserves the Future,” the competition invites photographers from around the world to capture the UAE’s wildlife, landscapes and underwater environments. A special category also welcomes creative works that reimagine UAE nature using AI, based on an original photograph taken in the UAE.
The competition features four categories: Wildlife, Natural Landscapes, Underwater World, and Nature Reimagined With AI. The prize pool is AED 100,000, with prizes awarded across the categories.
The competition is open to participants aged 18 and above. Entries opened on 21 August 2026, with the final submission deadline set for 2 September 2026 at 11:59 PM UAE time. Participants can submit online through the HIPA website.
For the AI category, entries must have a recognizable connection to the UAE and be based on an original UAE photograph. HIPA also emphasizes responsible photography practices, including avoiding disturbance to wildlife and complying with applicable rules when using drones.
Photographers interested in participating can submit their entries through the official HIPA website before the deadline.
