The UAE anticipates more wet weather after record rainfall and storms. The National Centre of Meteorology predicts light rain on Monday, followed by more rain the next day. The Windy weather app shows rain concentrated over Dubai, with possible thunder on Tuesday. The NCM forecasts cloudy conditions with scattered rainfall on Tuesday.
An NCM expert expects milder weather. Dr. Ahmad Habib notes light to medium rainfall, mainly in eastern regions near mountains. This contrasts with recent severe storms.
Cleanup follows the storms, which flooded homes and roads, leading to flight disruptions. The UAE saw its largest single-day rainfall in 75 years, with one area in Al Ain recording 254mm. The NCM calls these downpours exceptional.
Flash floods in Ras Al Khaimah claimed a life and led to property damage and power cuts. Schools switched to distance learning, and public sector staff worked from home. Efforts continue to clear flooded roads amid delays.
