With hearts full of faith in Allah's decree and destiny, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, mourns his uncle, the late His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Al Ain Region, who passed away today. The Presidential Diwan announces official mourning and flag-lowering for a period of seven days starting today. May Allah grant the deceased His vast mercy, admit him to His expansive paradise, and grant patience and solace to the Al Nahyan family. To Allah we belong, and to Him, we shall return."

Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan (1942 – May 1, 2024) was a member of the Emirati royal family and a prominent businessman. He served as the Ruler's Representative of the Eastern Region of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, until his passing. Previously, he held positions such as deputy chairman of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, chairman of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, and deputy chairman of the Supreme Petroleum Council. In November 2018, a road from Al Ain to Dubai was renamed in his honor.
