UAE jobs: Flydubai to hire 130 pilots, expand fleet with 7 new aircraft

Flydubai has announced plans to significantly expand its operations, including the hiring of 130 new pilots and the addition of seven new aircraft to its fleet by the end of 2024. This expansion aligns with the airline's strategy to enhance its network, which already spans over 125 destinations across 58 countries. The new aircraft will facilitate the introduction of new routes to Basel, Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius, among others, further strengthening Flydubai's connectivity.

The CEO of Flydubai, Ghaith Al Ghaith, highlighted the airline's continued growth, noting that it has expanded its workforce to over 5,800 professionals, including more than 1,200 pilots. This year alone, Flydubai has employed over 440 new staff, marking a 6% increase from the previous year. The recruitment drive is part of a broader effort to support the company's expansion and operational needs.

Flydubai's fleet currently comprises 88 Boeing 737 aircraft, and the company has placed an order for 30 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, marking its first venture into wide-body aircraft. This expansion is part of Flydubai's commitment to modernizing its fleet and improving operational efficiency. The airline also emphasizes its efforts to attract and employ young Emirati talent, supporting the UAE's Emiratisation initiatives.

In addition to fleet and workforce expansion, Flydubai continues to focus on enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency. The airline's strategic initiatives are designed to support Dubai's economic goals, particularly the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to position Dubai as one of the world's top cities for tourism and business over the next decade.
